This package of plugins expands the standard product characteristics in the JoomShopping component and makes your store more modern and flexible in customization. The package consists of 4 plugins, one of which (jshopping) has additional parameters for working with characteristics.
The implementation adds the following additional fields for the characteristics themselves:
- Unit of measurement. Useful for standardizing values.
- Adding a unit of measurement. You can disable or choose where the selected unit will be displayed: near the name of the characteristic or option.
- Link to the value in the card and product list. If selected, each of the options will be wrapped in a link tag. The choice of link type is available in the edit option form or by default.
- Selected characteristic. Adds a feature with values to a separate product variable: featured_extra_field.
- Image. Add an image/icon to add variety to your description.
- Displaying images in the card and product list. There are 3 options to choose from: to the left of the text, to the right and instead.
In addition, options can be configured. The following additional fields are provided for them:
- Link to the product. Selecting and indicating the appropriate parameters in the characteristics will result in adding a link to this product. Used first.
- Link to category. The same thing, only per category. Second stage.
- Image and output in product and listing. Similar to the extra field image.
You can also add a picture to the group and display it in a card. The output is not available for the list, since group display is not implemented there at all.
Regarding the option value link, a logical order for the value is implemented here: product, category, filtered list. The last option (poor for SEO) takes the following form and is added if the server finds the category id: /category/?extra_fields[XXX][]=YYY, where XXX is the id of the characteristic, YYY is the id of the option.
Linking is useful for your website's SEO, so don't neglect the opportunity to place quality links. It is important that it is convenient for the client to navigate the pages of the online store.
All listed additional fields for JoomShopping characteristics and their configuration will be applied on the following pages:
- Product card (all)
- List of products (all)
- Advanced search (unit)
- Cart and checkout basket (unit)
Please note that this data is not available for the standard filter (from the component).
Installation
The package is installed through the Joomla installer. After installation, you must enter the key: “Extensions -> Update sites -> Additional fields for JoomShopping characteristics", which will be given to you after purchase.
When you delete the package “Additional fields for JoomShopping characteristics”, the previously selected values and images will be deleted from the server.
